Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.
The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they added.
Law enforcement then located multiple other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state initial examinations indicate the liquid was likely human blood.
"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; authorities are presently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the community for information.
A senior official commented the vandalism left him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, mentioning the death of nine people by a assailant aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
